Warm up at the Dakota’s super fun musical brekkie. Every Sunday they offer T.O. a family-style bluegrass brunch. $12 gets you endless platters of scrambled eggs, potatoes, OJ and coffee, plus live bluegrass music for you and your kids to dance to. Ron Sexsmith has been known to turn up and play a set or two.

Turntablist and new dad Kid Koala (aka Eric San) is hosting a Music to Draw To soirée for the next three Mondays (March 2,9 and 16) at Théâtre Ste-Catherine. Bring a sketchbook, colouring book, or some knitting and do your thing while Eric spins “quiet time” sets. This is a family affair! There will be hot chocolate and snacks home baked by San’s wife, Corinne. The event starts at 7 PM and goes ’til late so for a very special weeknight treat, bring your bunch for the first hour or so and then home to bed.
