The Woolfes Make Frankenpops

Every family does mealtime differently. All we know is food and family go together like PB and J. In Munchland, you show us how your family fills up their tummies.

  • CITY: Toronto, Ontario
  • OUR BUNCH: Eric, 38, actor/playwright/puppeteer. Wendy, 37, piano teacher. Oliver, 6, fan of rollercoasters and Devo. Jack, 3, computer game wizard. Schubert, 8, miniature Schnauzer.

We at Bunchland are huge fans of puppeteer/actor Eric Woolfe’s  slasher film-inspired puppet plays. We also love that he scripts and directs awesome homemade videos starring his kids. So we were stoked when he offered to make our very first Munchland video, and not at all surprised that he created a how-to video for frozen fruit pops based entirely on Frankenstein. Really. We give you…The Dessert of Frankenstein!

Eric’s Frankenpop Recipe

  1. We put out bowls of anything that will taste good in random combinations, like fruit: strawberries, blueberries, bananas, mangoes, whatever.
  2. Then we add a cup or so of yogurt, and maybe some fruit juice.
  3. Next, we add a little bit of chocolate or maple syrup, just enough for the boys to think they are getting a treat.
  4. Then once everything has been dumped into a bowl, we blend it, pour the resulting gunk into Popsicle moulds and pop it in the freezer.

Note: The important thing is to give the kids enough freedom to think they are making up the recipe by themselves each time they do it, but not enough freedom to poison themselves when they eat the finished product.

Jack and Oliver love Devo. No, really.
